Wayne is the President and Chief Operating Officer at New River Hardwoods.

Wayne rejoined the company as President in 2015, following three years as Director of Manufacturing for Seven Islands Land Company. Prior to joining Seven Islands, he had been with the company and its affiliates for several years in various positions of increasing responsibility including timber production manager, mill manager and Vice President of operations.

Prior to joining the New River family, Wayne was active in the coal business involved in operations, engineering and eventually owned and operated three independent coal mines.

Wayne received a Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering and a Master of Business Administration from Virginia Tech and is a Registered Professional Engineer. Wayne is active in various industry groups and a Director for the Hardwood Manufacturer's Association and Appalachian Lumberman's Club.

When not working, Wayne enjoys spending time with his family, gardening, growing berries and raising honey bees.
